Roamvello
The short version
- Roamvello does not collect your personal data. We don't receive your trips, locations, voice memos or anything else you put in the app.
- There is no account and no sign-in.
- Your trip data is stored locally on your device.
- We don't use analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party SDKs.
- Backups and exports are created only when you ask, and you choose where they go.
This policy explains how the Roamvello iOS app ("Roamvello", "the app") and this website handle information. "We" and "us" refer to the developer of Roamvello.
Information we collect
None. Roamvello has no account system, and we don't run servers that receive your data. Everything you create in the app stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it.
Data stored on your device
To work, Roamvello saves what you create in the app's private storage on your iPhone. This includes:
- Trips, day plans, place markers and their place details
- Recorded trails (location points, distance, speed and elevation)
- Voice memos
- Expenses, tickets and bookings
- Checklists, travel collections and badges
- App settings such as colors, quick actions and date/time preferences
We cannot access this data. If you delete the app, iOS deletes this data from your device. To keep a copy, export a backup first.
If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, iOS may include Roamvello's data in those device backups, as it does for most apps. Apple's terms and your backup settings govern those backups.
Permissions the app asks for
Roamvello asks for a permission only when you use the feature that needs it. You can change these permissions any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security.

| Location | To add your current position and nearby place details when you drop a marker, and to record your route while trail recording (hiking, cycling, running, driving) is running. If you allow it, recording continues while the app is in the background or the screen is locked. Location is used only while you're using these features, and it's saved only on your device. |

| Photo library | Only to save images you choose to export, such as a trip picture or a park badge, to your Photos. Roamvello doesn't upload your photo library. |
If you decline a permission, the rest of the app keeps working. Only the feature that needs it is unavailable.
Apple Maps (MapKit)
Roamvello uses Apple's MapKit to show maps and to look up place details such as nearby businesses, landmarks, streets and cities. When the app shows a map or looks up a place, your device sends the relevant map area or coordinates to Apple to get map tiles and place information. We don't receive this information. Apple handles it under the Apple Privacy Policy. Map display and place lookups may need an internet connection.
Backups and exports
Roamvello can export a backup file of your trip data, as well as images of your trip map, tickets, timeline, expenses and badges. These files are created only when you ask. You choose where they go, for example the Files app, a cloud drive, AirDrop, Messages or Photos.
Once a file leaves the app, the policies of the place you sent it to apply. Backup files contain your trip history, which may include locations and voice memos, so keep them somewhere you trust. You can import a backup into Roamvello to restore your trips.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent or share your data. We don't have it.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't include analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs from third parties.
Information Apple may share with developers
If you have turned on Share with App Developers in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give developers crash reports and app usage statistics. Apple says these don't identify you. This is controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by Roamvello, and you can turn it off at any time.
Children
Roamvello doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
This website
roamvello.com is a static website hosted on GitHub Pages. It uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and it doesn't load fonts or scripts from other services. Like most web hosts, GitHub may log technical information such as your IP address when you visit, for security and to run its service. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Changes to this policy
If Roamvello's data practices change, for example if a sync feature is added, we'll update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
